Doug was assisted directly after the crash by another passenger, and joined others that night to hear the roars and sounds of the Monster emanating from within the jungle. (1x01)
Doug helped along with his fellow survivors in getting the raft on the water, when Danielle Rousseau arrived at the camp to deliver a dire threat about the coming of The Others. (1x23)

Doug was present at Shannon's funeral. A few weeks later, Doug was handing out Dharma food in the forest, when a supply drop is droped on the island. (2x09) (2x18)

當生還者們選擇到誰的小隊時，Doug決定加入Locke小隊到兵營去。接著的那天，他跟Locke小隊的成員在前往兵營的途中，遇上剛到小島的Charlotte。其後他們一起繼續往兵營去。(4x02)
當Keamy等人在兵營裡襲擊生還者時，Sawyer拿著一把槍在兵營裡到處走。Doug抱著一些木頭路過，Sawyer問他有沒有看到Claire，但是Doug並沒有回答他的問題，他只問Sawyer為什麼拿著一把槍。突然一顆子彈射到Doug的中胸裡，他的血噴到Sawyer的衣服上，接著他倒地並死掉了。(4x09)
